A Walk Through The Tombstones
Meet the living and the dead
The last two days our dog walks have been restricted to walking around the little cemetery at the junction. Laura’s back is still giving her problems so this is all she can currently manage. Especially as both dogs have an enthusiasm for sudden pulling on their leads, depending on the presenting scents. Although I am able to manage both dogs on either side of me for part of the walk, there are times when my attention has to be undivided and exclusively on Moth. Laura has an appointment to see the osteopath later today so hopefully it will be sorted. In the past it has only taken one session to get it clicked back into position.
The days are getting hot so a shorter walk is probably better for Moth. She is very sensitive to the heat. No doubt I would be too if I had a black fur coat stuck to me at all times. Unlike Milo, who loves the heat.
With the heat of the month come changes to the Victorian garden cemetery. The grass and bushes are growing into micro-jungles and men from the council have been out with their strimmers and mowers. But it’s a lost cause. And rightly so. But they seem happy to be fighting it and they always have time to stop and mess with the dogs. There’s a big notice from the council saying ‘No Dogs’ but no one seems to mind and we always keep them on leads and under control…
