A well written and well balanced article. You got across the major points of his premiership. Yet for many people BJ has become the worst PM ever. For many this is due to his level of breathtaking incompetence (partly brought about by his lack of attention to detail), his lack of integrity, a total absence of anything resembling a moral code of behaviour and a dizzying level of sheer and utter mendacity. On the plus side, he is charming and charismatic. The cult of the personality has trumped (oops!) over any serious application of statecraft. The ministers and senior politicians who held power over his reign called him out too late for them not to be tainted by his corruption. He has always been the same. Even his headmaster at his super posh school, Eaton, said that BJ seems to think that he doesn’t have to comply to the same standards of behaviour and conduct that the rest of us subscribe to. He is above having to comply with the same standards of decency as the common man. It will take a long time for our politics to recover from the wrecking ball that has been applied to number 10 and our institutions of government.
