Brexit is Bust
And that’s official — from the Arse-in-Chief
I noticed in the last few weeks that arch-grifter, Nigel Farage, has finally admitted to Brexit being a failure. But it’s less than you think. This isn’t a change of heart. This is no personality transplant, a falling on his sword, admitting he was wrong as he coughs up blood. No. With Farage there is never any acceptance of guilt. No recognition of making a mistake and acknowledging his responsibility for the cataclysmic error, the monumental act of self-harm known as Brexit. No way. He puts it all on the government for their lack of ability to ensure its success. He maintains the idea was sound, it was just the people in charge that fucked it up. ‘Nothing to do with me, guv. I was right all along. It’s just your leaders that can’t make it happen. It’s them, not me.’
Of course, as always, Farage is being fundamentally disingenuous. No one could make Brexit a success. But it is not in Farage’s DNA to admit this. He doesn’t have the humility or integrity to own his mistakes.
Let’s be clear. The idea was toxic from the start. For many years the only people who supported it were the reactionary Euro-sceptics of the Tory party and right-wing pugilists like Farage.
