The pressure is on for my first 100 followers
I have just received an email from Medium that I need to reach 100 followers by beginning of March, else be ejected from the Partner Program.
Anyone out there who enjoys my writing, please click the Follow button before my days are up.
My subjects range from travel, mental health, music (especially seventies Prog), fiction, history, culture, hypnosis, dogs and anything that glitters and catches my eye. So if any of those subjects tempt you – and we all like things that glitter, right? – I would love you to join my small but beautifully select group.
Even if I am unceremoniously ejected from the paywall by the Medium bouncers, I will pick myself up, dust myself down and continue to scribble on this platform. Money can never be my main motivation for writing. I’m still hoping to eventually get some reasonable income from here one day but, if it happens, it will be a bonus. Despite Dr Johnson’s harsh declaration that anyone who doesn’t write for money is a blockhead, I confess, I write for the love of it. If that makes me a blockhead than at least I’m with Ian Drury. And I’m probably with most other fellow writers on here, including those who do earn good money.
