For sure, we are social creatures who gravitate towards a social structure that is often based on a hierarchy. Yet, within that there is a need for cooperation and interdependence. We survive and thrive by working together. That works for most of us. However, there is a small percentage of psychopaths who have a need for power over others, driven by a lack of empathy. Many remain lawful and become CEOs of large companies or consultant surgeons (I’m not just riffing, there is data supporting the job choices of intelligent psychopaths). Flies in our societal ointment. It’s a fascinating debate. Many thanks for reading and responding.
