Moth – still as a pup

Two days have passed since I last wrote about my dog, Moth, and her visit to the vet, after developing a limp. This follows a long recovery of over three months from two cruciate ligament operations – see earlier pieces: The Ongoing Trials and Tribulations of my Dog, Moth and Staying in Post Op Recovery With My Dog.

We’re still waiting for that follow up phone call from the vet. It was promised by today (Friday) at the latest. This is when the orthopaedic surgeon normally visits their practice and the video he took of Moth walking could be shown to her.

But it’s not really his fault we haven’t received the call. We’ve had storms in the whole of Southern England today, with winds the highest on record in nearby areas. Anyone travelling today does so at significant risk to life and limb. So my guess is that the vet received no visit today from the surgeon.

And, anyway, I’m certainly feeling a lot less stressed about her condition. Her walking has improved with little signs of limping over the past 24 hours. After two nights of staying downstairs with her, last night Moth trotted up the stairs without any problem. Hurrah! Back to my bed! And when she began to take weight on all four paws we…
