The Ongoing Trials and Tribulations of My Dog, Moth

Last year she had two operations to fix her knee joint ligaments, and it’s not over yet.

Moth – is that a rabbit I see? It’s mine!

Once more we’re at the vet’s. We may as well move in and cut down on the fuel expenses. After a consultation this morning we are waiting for him to call us back once he has liaised with the orthopaedic surgeon. When will this end?

Moth is a two year old Rottweiler, we’ve had since puppyhood. In February 2020, just before the first lock down, we found her a companion dog, Milo, from Battersea Dogs Home, just a few months older than her (see Ballad of a three legged dog).

Our canine family was complete. Albeit my grey hairs have multiplied at an alarming rate along with my free floating anxiety that is in direct proportion to the level of mischief and general canine mayhem delivered to us as a daily basis. But for some reason still unfathomable to me, our love for these two large beasties we have welcomed into our home, is unconditional. I guess for their sakes this is just as well.

Moth – this is my chair, and my chair only.

Moth’s current problems started last August when we noticed her limping during a routine…
