This is a live version of the momentous track that completes the album of the same name. A few years old now (2017) but still one I play frequently. The whole album is standout but this one just puts the hairs up on the back of my neck. It is awe inspiring.

I have to admit that the album version has a richer quality of sound, both vocals and instrumentation. But this live recording brings out what all good live renditions do — a vital sense of immediacy and vibrancy, aided by an appreciative audience.

The whole album is definitely worth a punt — and can be experienced in all its glory, courtesy of YouTube, although I would urge you to buy the album. It is a meditation on the the real life events of singer songwriter, Daniel Gildenlow, when he fell victim to flesh eating bacteria in 2014 that was resistant to all antibiotics. He spent months in hospital, fighting for his life. What started out as just an annoying infection turned, within hours, to something potentially fatal. After a while the morphine no longer eased the pain and he so decided to stop the pain relief, triggering a period of withdrawal or cold turkey. In the album notes he says that he had a hole in his back…
